Peshtemal Towels

Gathering immense popularity over recent years, Soap Lady’s traditional, authentic and luxurious hand-loomed peshtemals are made from high quality 100% Turkish cotton and also bamboo by artisans in villages across Turkey. Soft in texture, they are long lasting and perfect for absorbing water. They are lightweight, making them handy travel companions and suitable for a variety of purposes including the gym, sauna, beach, summer wear, by the pool, sarong, scarf, bath or even for using as a tablecloth both in the home or out for a picnic.

Traditionally used over the centuries in hamam baths they are practical and extremely versatile, which makes them perfect for when travelling, especially as they take up little luggage space. Being multi- purpose and quick to dry our designs are both chic, fashionable and are, of course, unisex. Well made, easy to clean and retaining their colour, our peshtemals are an asset for any traveller, amazing gifts by themselves or as part of a gift set that can be tailor made by our staff in the Oludeniz shop.

Our shop also stocks a wider variety of cotton beach towels and in addition, the limited circular towels we presently have are highly popular with our visitors. Our photo’s highlight some of our latest peshtemals that we have introduced to our existing collections which we have selected personally to ensure we get it right for the customer. ‘Peshtemal Bath Robes’

Ayse started a new design of peshtemal bath robe back in 2017 and by popular demand, she will continue to make these amazing robes throughout 2018 and beyond! We have sold considerable numbers from our shop and also through online sales. The robes are designed and made with two standard cotton peshtemal towels that are available in the colours as in the photo’s. They come in three sizes, Small; Medium and Large and each robe has extra room to ensure suitable wrap around the body. Of course, these are available to purchase online or you may wish to pop into the shop if visiting the area and consider ordering one.

Handmade Toys

‘Ayse Dolls – Price: 130 TL

Drawing on her experiences of being a mum and of teaching the ‘little people’, Ayse’s doll making expertise was put to good use when she spotted a gap in the market for handmade traditional Turkish dolls. ‘Ayse Doll’ was born, in fact many of them were born over the years.

Using safe and locally sourced products, Ayse meticulously designs and creates a unique ‘Ayse Doll’, each with its own colourful pair of outfits with its own date of birth and Oludeniz as its place where born sewn into the traditional outfit. Why two outfits you might ask? Well, the ‘Ayse Doll’ has two heads, one with a smiling face, but then, when turned upside down, a new colourful outfit is revealed and she is now sleeping! ‘Ayse Dolls’ are baby and child friendly with no parts that can be ripped, chewed, broken or eaten and we can testify for that. The quality control team in the form of Ayse’s 5 year-old grand daughter, Daisy and 3 year-old grand-son, Aslan, the dolls even manage to survive intact the extreme levels of violence that they inflict!

‘Sock Monkey’s’ – Price: Large 55 TL / Small 50 TL

Take a look at Ayse’s ‘Sock Monkeys’ too, which she makes by hand here in Oludeniz. Made from new designer socks and like the Ayse Dolls they are child and baby friendly with no detachable parts except the neck ribbon which can be removed where necessary. Of course, both Daisy and Aslan have applied the same level of violence to the Sock Monkeys as part of our quality control procedures and the monkeys have sustained their appearance and remained intact!

 

 

‘Lavender Bags’ – Price: 25 TL

Ayse also makes her own Lavender Bags with hand sewn designs and each containing Turkish

‘Mermaids’  Price: 80 TL

A new designed toy hand made by Ayse for 2018 and immensely popular with the young ladies. Here we made available some examples of the wonderful hand crafted mermaids that she has previously made available. It goes without saying that these were all hand made here locally and make wonderful gifts for any young lady who just adores a mermaid!

Spice Grinders  Price: 20 TL

Importantly for us and you, all our Soap Lady products are made here in Turkey and we have always kept them at competitive prices too. If you love everything Turkish then our authentic traditional Turkish Spice Grinders are immensely popular and can be found in our kitchen. Naturally, we wish to widen the opportunity for everyone to purchase them at realistic prices.
